The Austcane ethanol project (value approx $220 million) is proposed in the Burdekin area, south of Townsville in Queensland.  The facility incorporates an integrated Sugar Cane Processing Mill, Juice extraction, Ethanol Plant and Cogeneration processing one million tonnes per year of sugar cane per year to to produce up to 160 million litres of fuel grade ethanol per year to be used in ethanol fuel blends.

TfA commenced involvement with Austcane at the very beginning of the project, working with the Project Owner as Clients’ Engineer to progress the project and Development Application.

TfA’s Role included:
