The Currumbin Service and Retail Centre opened in 2023, offering a variety of public amenities and conveniences including fuel, fast food, health, fitness and storage facilities and serves as an excellent example of mixed-use warehouse style retail development.
The site is located on 4.5ha of land, conveniently accessed from the M1 Highway at the Stewart Road interchange.
The centre includes an integrated mix of retail and commercial development, comprising of:
- Service station / truck-stop
- Multiple food and drink drive-thru tenancies
- Multiple showroom tenancies
- Light industrial tenancies
- Warehouse / storage
- Gymnasium
TFA assisted with a range of project services including town planning, approvals and architectural design and documentation.
Despite the site’s industrial zoning, the project has established an important precedent in recognising the broader commercial and ‘gateway opportunities’ for the site by virtue of its high-profile location.
The town planning approvals involved complex negotiations with the relevant authorities, particularly given the site’s zoning and overlay constraints.
Now in operation, this clean and contemporary development has found itself to become a critical hub for both the Currumbin Waters community and passing travellers needing refuelling and refreshment.
