PARK FUELS TERMINAL EXPANSION, KOORAGANG & PORT KEMBLA

Park Fuels own and operate major fuel and bulk liquid storage terminals within the Port facilities of Kooragang Island and Port Kembla, NSW.  As part of the Federal Government’s Boosting Australia’s Fuel Storage Program which was announced in 2020, Park Fuels committed to constructing 1 x new 34ML Bulk Diesel storage tank at Kooragang Island and 1 x new 25ML Bulk Diesel storage tank at Port Kembla.

TFA were engaged by Park Fuels to provide multi-disciplinary detailed design and engineering of each project and to manage planning approvals at the Port Kembla site.

TFA designed the existing Kooragang Island Terminal and the proposed 34ML diesel storage tank was incorporated within the original master planning provisions.

Planning approvals at the Port Kembla site involved detailed discussions with the Wollongong council in reaching agreement on an effective and efficient planning approval pathway utilising the existing overarching approval over the site and overcoming challenging flood criteria.
